The saw works fine, but the start up torque causes the saw to "jerk". I have other saws that come up to speed gently. This one starts at full speed and causes the entire saw to try to raise up unless it is bolted down. As often as not, this causes the piece you are trying to cut to change position. I strongly recommend that the saw be used with a heavy duty miter saw table, rather than from a truck tailgate, flat table or resting on the floor.
The thing that makes this saw better than 3 stars is the sliding function that allows for cutting of wider boards than would be possible with fixed blade saws.
Overall I like this saw,but wish it were a little more gentle on start up.
As always, Amazon's ordering and delivery processes were easy and convenient. Ordered the saw on Saturday and was using it on Tuesday.

I purchase this saw and was pleased with the saw. It worked just as stated.The support I received from the vendor CPO-Outlets was very good. The saw came with a missing part but they took care of it and i received it directly from ryobi.

This was purchased to cut/saw manufactured split brick. It has paid for itself twice over. For the home owner who has a little knowledge in what they are doing, it is great. For contractors work I have no idea.The dust catcher is useless for brick dust collection. Clamping from the left works great. Clamping from the right is a chore. That of course is the motor side of the saw and the clamp is in the way when you use the slide for long angled cuts to the left. This Unit is very sturdy and well built. For home use I would put it up against the more expensive Sliding Compound Miter Saws. The only real pain the tookus is changing the blade out.
