The right compound sliding miter saw at the right price.
By Robert A. Hart
I purchased this saw for a project that I am building. I didn't expect much, considering the competition is priced about 3-10x the purchase price of this saw. Don't get me wrong--this saw IS NOT like the $400+ compound sliding miter saws. I would not recommend it for the heavy user based on my preliminary experience. It came nicely boxed in good condition. The manual is limited but adequate. Assembly was simple. The laser seems off by about 1mm which is fine as long as you remember this with each cut. The 60 tooth carbide blade cuts nicely. The miter angles don't click as solidly at each common angle, but it easily tightens down and cuts any angle accurately. My 5 star rating is based on the fact that it exceeds my expectations for this price point, not that it compares to the $400+ saws. This saw seems to fit my needs (homeowner, casual woodworker) nicely.

Ok for the handyman
By Jim C
Bought this saw, after seeing other reviews on the internet.
Only used it a couple of times so far.
Seems to be an OK saw. It is lighter than other Name Brand saws I have seen.
I doubt that it would hold up under daily use. But for part time weekend projects it seeems to be fine.
Removed out of the box and checked squareness. It was right on.
The detents for angles are not even noticable, but it locks down tight.
The Laser is a joke. I had to turn off all the lights in my shop, and I still could just hardly see it. But I guess that is why people use a pencil.
All and all I think for the price, and for the occasional user, it is a good buy.
If you order it from Nothern Tool, don't expect it under 2 weeks.

poor quality, not as advertised
By Orlin J. Moe
this saw is a workable cheap imitation of a genuine miter saw. might be good for chopping boards not dependent on precise cutting. blade which came with it is poor quality and leaves splits when cutting hardwood board
